Storing Fresh Bread.

Recommended Posts

Guest Virginia Dawn

I've been putting mine in gallon sized freezer bags. I wash and reuse the bags, so they last a while. If the bread doesn't get eaten within 24 hours, I've had to put it in the frig. It gets moldy smelling much quicker than store bought. In fact, I found that it is much easier to slice a loaf that has been in the refrigerator.

I made potato bread last night and it is soooo good.

I've starting making my own sandwich bread again and I'm wondering how all you other bread bakers store your bread? It usually takes 2-3 days for us to go through a loaf.

Thanks!!

I finally bought these: http://www.urbanhomemaker.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=334&idproduct=1655 We re-use them a few times each, usually. I like them because my loaves didn't fit well in gallon bags. I use the gallon bag for bread that I pre-slice for the kids, though.
