8filltheheart
Seven years ago, 315 colleges and universities accepted the most widely used form, the Common Application; this year, 517 did.Students applying to seven or more colleges made up just 9 percent of the applicant pool in 1990, but accounted for 29 percent in 2011, I think that is what is seen in the numbers I posted in the other thread. Sebastian (a lady)
It seems that a student with high qualifications is really pushed into applying so several schools just in order to end up with a handful of acceptances. Multiple acceptances may be desire to have some financial aid offers to compare. And of course this pushed the cycle again. I think my kid could do well in their applications. Then again it feels like such a roll of the dice.
