Swimtaxi234
My daughter just found out that she was accepted and plans to attend Session A. Are there any other homeschoolers from the Hive going?
Swimtaxi234
She does 30 minutes of aerobics or core training and 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer three times a week until it is warm enough for early morning runs. Plus she still has swim and water polo practice 4-5x a week (with additional high school swim practices a few times a week before club swim). She has been training for the Bataan Memorial Death March - 26.1 miles, but she since she has a schedule conflict and can't join her group for the actual Bataan event, she only trains with them once a week where they jog/walk 9-10 miles on Sundays. DD has a schedule for the CFA training that she hopes to start as soon as swim state champs are over.
AFwife Claire
My son is going!! He's thinking the second session, though. He was so happy--since we have so much USAFA history in our family, I had prepared for getting rejected in favor of someone who isn't as familiar. Yay! Swimtaxi234
Margaret - thanks for the link. I have been spending time at this site too ... http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2.
Sebastian (a lady)
There are some good guys at service forums, but beware, it can get pretty snarky! I was pretty underwhelmed by some of the regular posters at the USNA pages in College Confidential. I know we all feel like we had the last real plebe year (or maybe the plebes we trained did). But some of the posts seem so negative in a general sense. For USNA, the Naval Academy Admissions Facebook page seems to be helpful. They will often reply directly on FB to candidates with questions.
