swellmomma
Lesson of the day, be kind to people because you never know when it will come back to help you. I attended school with a girl in junior high and high school that was in cadets. I was always nice to her. All these years later she is the one in charge of cadets in western canada. We were told yesterday that ds15 could not shoot any moer due to his LD meds. I posted on fb about my disappointment, she messaged me and asked about it (we are fb friends) and went to work this morning and got them to lift all the restrictions. So head office of cadets in Winnipeg turned around their ruling that ds15s CO got no where with and now ds15 can shoot again, he is back to shooting on the team and his option for marksmanship summer camp is back on the table. All that less than 24 hours after we were told of the restriction (he was still allowed to shoot last Thursday so they must have only told the CO on Friday). I am so thrilled for him. I told my kids this was proof that being kind to people is more important than you think. I have not seen this girl in 19 years and yet the fact I was a nice person to her means she went to bat for my kid. Most often fbeing kind is a reward in itself, but you really never know. If I have been a teenaged biotch to her in highschool, my son likely would still have these restrictions and be very upset right now. ALl of that reminded me that this week is random acts of kindness week. SO take the time to practice acts of kindness because you just never know when that kindness will be extended back to you and what an impact it can have on your family.
