Which book first: "The Hobbit" or "The Fellowship of the Rings"

Of course, The Hobbit. It comes first chronologically and is also appropriate for that age.

Definitely The Hobbit.

 

You might find you need to wait another year or two for LOTR. It's requires more advanced reading skills than does The Hobbit. Some kids are ready at 10yo and others benefit from waiting until they are older.

Thanks for the heads-up.  He's a really good reader, and has recently become interested in the whole series because of the Lego game.   :001_rolleyes:   Up until now, he's been majorly into anything dragon-themed.
