jelbe5
A friend of mine posted a nice little ditty on her Facebook page and challenged her friends to come up with their own. I thought it would be fun to see if anyone on the forums would like to do the same. No rules - it can rhyme if you want, but does not have to. Any type of poetry style on any subject, etc. It has been a long time since I wrote a poem. Here is what I came up with and posted on my friend's FB page: A stay-at-home mom I never thought I would be, Taking care of the home and homeschooling my three, Having great fun, much laughter, some tears, Lots of great memories from all the past years, Volunteering at church and as a webmaster, too, Keeps things busy all the day through, When I retire at night and reflect on the day, I smile as I know I wouldn't have it any other way! TXBeth
Life flies by At breakneck speed Never stopping Never slowing Never caring What I need Time will always Keep on going I try to rush Keep up the pace Faster faster Now I fly Can I ever Win the race Is it wrong To even try I can't keep up Though I keep running Time goes faster Anyway More tomorrows Always coming Each one closer Than today Yesterday Seems long ago Today is gone Tomorrow a guess I am swimming Against the flow Never a chance To stop and rest But when I'm tired When I'm shaken When I feel Like breaking down When the paths That I have taken Have me dizzy Broken down Back to a wall Face to a hill I stop. I pray. And time stands still.
