happypamama
I thought that 2012 was the last year of the extensions of the Bush-era tax credits, including the $1000 per child tax credit, and that for 2013, the child tax credit was reverting to $500 per child. But when I filled in our tax paperwork the other day, it said $1000 per child. And yes, this was software updated for 2013, via H&R Block's site. Google reminded me that Obama did sign into law some sort of permanent tax benefits -- was the $1000 per child tax credit part of that? Just wanted to make sure that it is indeed $1000 per child and not $500 per child. Anyone know?
SwallowTail
I don't know, but am hopeful the $1000 is in place for this year, at least.
SwallowTail
Ahh, it is due to the "fiscal cliff" ting. http://20somethingfinance.com/2013-child-tax-credit/

milovany
Another five years ... nice! We'll have to plan ahead for that time, though. Not only might these end, but most of our kids will be 17 or older. It'll be a huge change fiscally speaking.
