Stellalarella
Yep, you can use a Brock microscope to see pinworm eggs. What homeschooling fun for all!!! And you know what? After I had explained the life cycle of the pinworm and how it is that kids can get the eggs into their mouths, how long the little suckers live after hatching, and the great fun that female pinworms have when they come out at night, AND let the students view their pinworm eggs under the microscope, I felt like we had done school for the THE DAY. And did I mention math? If I see 4 pinworms, and each pinworm lays 10,000 eggs, how many eggs is that??
Kerileanne99
Awesome and hilarious! Science, math, health, all packed into one very memorable little unit. Not to mention I bet the students are MUCH more likely to remember to wash hands:)

Kerileanne99
If this doesn't break the thumb sucking habit.... If not, a second days lesson can be arranged...put that Magiscope to use by taking a look at the tip of the fingernail file after you have scraped out the gunk from under a thumbnail😷
stripe
eew! My kids were grossed out when we looked in their ears and belly buttons.... I won't ask where you got the pinworms from!
Miss Tick
Oh, but I will ask! The idea freaks me out, so perhaps it is something we should study...
