~Victoria~
This year (k) we used Salsa videos online with phrases and vocabulary focus. It was very relaxed and I don't know if I should find something to use for Spanish next year or not. I would like to do Latin later on but we live in Texas and learning Spanish is very valuable here. Any thoughts?
lexi
We are using Song School Spanish. It's been fun. We are in TX too so we are focusing on Spanish first before Latin.
Miss Tick
There is also Getting Started With Spanish. We haven't used it, but are using and enjoying the Latin version. There is also Spanish for Chivos y Grandes (which I looked at but didn't end up using). Do you speak any Spanish yourself? That can open up more resource options. As to whether to stay with a modern language and add Latin later or vice versa, there have been a lot of threads on that and you can find reasonable arguments for either way. ~Victoria~
I don't speak Spanish myself :/ my husband and I would love to learn too - maybe we should all learn together.
duckens
Dd is in first grade and has JUST turned 7yo. We have been watching Salsa episodes over lunch. I don't push the Spanish too hard because we are also doing Chinese, too. ----------------------------------------------------------------- A couple of weeks ago, I pulled out FlipFlop Spanish. We are starting with the age 3-5 book, and it is very gentle. I have made a couple of games to go with it. 1) Dd made faces on index cards to answer the "Como estas?" question. --Estoy bien. --Estoy mal. --Estoy asi asi. 2) Color flashcards to match or play Memory. example: rosado with rosado roho with roho azul with azul
Slache
http://www.theeasyspanish.com/ I have yet to use this, but we plan to, as well as it's french counterpart. The Junior level is aimed at K-3rd, and is only $70, for a 1-3 year program.
