Like D'Aulaire's Myths, but China, India and Africa?

Recommended Posts

That's exactly the series that came to my mind as well. My library has copies of a number of the volumes and they are excellent.

"Nelson Mandela's Favorite African Folktales" is a good anthology as well: http://www.amazon.com/Nelson-Mandelas-Favorite-African-Folktales/dp/0393329909/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1387654717&sr=8-2&keywords=nelson+mandela%27s+favorite+african+folktales

We have a book called World Mythology, The Illustrated Guide that has gobs of myths broken up by country or region, and includes lesser known areas such as China, Japan, Africa, Mesoamerica, South America, Tibet, the arctic, Australia, Oceania, and more.
