faiths13
I am looking around at some free options for my 9th grader to take as an elective. I have found a ton of computer science classes (programming and coding) and I have no idea which are good. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can count them as credits for high school? Or which are the best to use? I found Kahn Academy, Code Academy (same thing?) Scratch, Learn Street and prob a couple more. Thank you! mumto2
I answered your other thread too. But I plan to give ds credit. He is doing codeacademy and has learned so much. He has also (his choice) read a stack of how to code books from the library. Just so you know coding is ds main interest, his career choice so he does love it! Coursera has several courses starting soon, ds plans on doing some from these. Depending on the level of your ds interest one of those could be helpful. They are free and you need to sign up but after that you can use as much or as little as you want.
Luckymama
My dd is planning on "An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python" from Coursera. It starts Oct 7 and runs for nine weeks. The course focuses on (really basic) game programming with two videos to watch, two quizzes, and one mini-project each week.
