Kitchen drawer reboot

Trying to do some light renovation when I have time. Paint the drawers one at a time, put on a new handle, and maybe some kind of liner to protect the wood bottoms.

One thing that's always bothered me is the lining you put in drawers. Either its the sticky-backed stuff that fades easily, wears with cleaning, and is difficult to strip out and replace or its not sticky at all and it folds up when you use the drawer. My cabinets have some kind of laminate sheet nailed in and they are very easy to clean. I can't find anything similar.

Anyone find something that will protect the bottom, is easy to clean, and not to difficult/expensive to buy and install.

I bought the RUbbermaid webby looking stuff for my kitchen drawers when we remodeled a few years ago. It stays in place but is removeable and washable should you have reason to do that. I bought a different Rubbermaid product for my bathroom drawers several years later. Oye. It moves.

I should have stuck with the first product.

I used leftover vinyl flooring cut to size in my laundry room cabinets. It curls a tad at the edges, but otherwise works great.

I bought some rubbermaid non-stick stuff (webby like you said) and if the drawer is used often is gets shoved around and folded under.

Perhaps I should walk through the flooring department. The shelf liner I have in the cabinets is like a thin sheet of formica. I'm assuming its original to the house (1960) or from the first few decades.

You can remove the laminate sheet, and spray paint it a fresh color.

I would spray it with primer first to help the paint stick and then an appliance grade spray paint afterward. If you are really crafty, you could stencil a decal on.
