Marylou
I like it fine w/o any flavorings, but I'm looking for ideas. Also, do you use black or green tea?
PinkyandtheBrains.
I use black tea, and for flavor I add berries after it's brewed and I put it in the fridge.
Staceyshoe
I use half green tea and half black tea. I love all things ginger, so I use some fresh or candied ginger in the bottle after the initial ferment. Just started some and added a little fruit juice to the bottles, but I haven't tasted it yet. LaxMom
We've used cocktail mixers ("mojito" syrup that has lime and mint, "cosmopolitan" syrup with pomegranate, etc). My husband once used some flat Blue Sky black cherry soda. That was tasty.
emcap
I use grapefruit juice for the second ferment. I also like black cherry juice concentrate.
caitlinsmom
I use green tea. My favorite way to flavor it is with 2TBSP lemon juice per 1 quart brew. Best lemonade on the planet. Last week I had leftover blackberry juice from jam making so I dumped that into a gallon of brew. Omg! That was good stuff! We drank 3 quarts in an afternoon because it was so yummy. :) Too bad I don't have blackberry juice hanging around year round.
SarahW
For flavoring I think fresh fruit juice is a good idea, like, straight out of the juicer fresh. I would sometimes do a very simple second brew. Throw some fresh juice in the bottom of the jar, fill up the rest with kombucha (no scoby), then cap and let sit for another day or so before refrigerating. I worried about killing my scoby's by putting them in anything other than black tea+sugar (I grew one myself from a bottle of GT, so I was pretty protective). Though now that they have exponentially multiplied maybe I should experiment more. Now I just need more brewing jars!
