Valley Girl
When I was in school, 8th graders studied U.S. history. The public schools here cover U.S. history in 8th grade as well. We've been following the ancient--middle ages--early modern--modern history cycle, so my 8th grader would normally be doing modern history next year. Although he had exposure to U.S. history as part of the early modern class and would have if he were to do modern history next year, I would love to hear from anyone who switched an in-depth U.S. history course for 8th grade. What made you decide to break the 4-year cycle? Which curriculum did you use? Did you resume with modern history in 9th grade? Thank you! kristi26
We will be sticking to our cycle. Ds is doing early american for 8th grade this year and the modern in 9th I think. I am also considering doing mfw in 9th and starting at ancients...we will see when we get there. Does that help at all? Lol.
NightOwl
I would do Modern History, you'll cover American History that way. It doesn't really matter what the PS is doing for 8th grade history IMO. :)
