mommymilkies
It's been ages and I am now old and senile. Can you all hit me with your best sources for refreshing Computer Science knowledge and prepping for Calculus? I've had up through Trig, but it's been a little while. I bought Lial's Pre-Calc (I think it's Lial's...), but otherwise, what are the BEST resources for surviving these classes? :D
Arcadia
I use Schaum's outline series for quick refreshers "Schaum's Outline of Calculus, 6th Edition (Schaum's Outline Series)". You can check the table of contents at the link and see if it tallies with what your course cover, then check if your library has copies. For computer science are you looking for Boolean Algebra, Discrete Math or something else?
AngieW in Texas
I liked Calculus the Easy Way for refreshing my calculus after 20 years of not using it, but it's not that great for learning it for the first time.
Dana
You can grab almost any text and work problems. If I remember correctly, your husband teaches at college...if so, see if he can get an old edition from someone he knows in the math department :). The interact software by Pearson works well for practice. (Can't add link easily here, but google search should get it for you.)
mommymilkies
Yes, he does. :) I am trying to get into Finite Math this summer. Apparently the deadline for registration was today, but when I went to register, they were wrong about it being optional, so I need it as well as Calculus. Thanks for the recommendations! For math, my picks were calculus (required), finite math, discrete math, differential equations, or linear algebra. My college here only offers the first two, so that's what I'm taking for transfer. :)
Caroline
A good trig refresher is the Trigonometry Cliff Notes. I know it sounds weird, but it's pretty good (and cheap.)
