Mynyel
My almost 5yo (he'll be 5 in June) has been complaining of a headecks (as he says) for the last 3 or 4 mornings. He only complains in the morning and doesn't act like anything is bothering him otherwise. His appetite certainly hasn't changed. He eats more than my 11yo. Not sure what it is or if I should be worried. Any ideas?
gardenmom5
does the headache last all day, or just when he wakes? what is his sleeping position like? Is he allergic to dustmites? (dust in pillow?) what is the condition of his pillow? eta: another common cause of headaches is mild dehydration. iow: have him drink more water. In The Great White North
Could be allergies. When he gets up, the mucus drains and the headache goes away. (I don't even have to have a runny nose or cough or any visible signs of an allergy for this, but allergy meds and a decongestant help.) It could also be blood sugar. Once he eats, the headache goes away. Try more protein at dinner/bedtime and see if there is a difference.
