Need Art Appreciation suggestions

Recommended Posts

My dd13 told me she wanted to learn about Artists and the work, she would also like to learn more art skills. She's a self-taught drawer and does well drawing Magna. She wants something to help her progress in her skills. Is there a curriculum that would combine both? If not suggestions for both areas would be greatly appreciated!

For appreciation, there's also Smart Art: Learning to Classify and Critique Art.

We really enjoyed this book this year.

For next year, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Art in Focus. You will see that you can get it cheap if you can be content with the previous edition. Even the Teacher Edition is cheap. Glencoe is the publisher and Angelicum Academy uses this text for the middle grades.

I agree that the Annotated Mona Lisa is also very good.

I like Artistic Pursuits but my kids are younger.

Have you seen this (below)? I have liked it for the art appreciation piece. It was free when I downloaded it. I used the code from here: http://moneysavingmom.com/2012/11/free-adventures-in-art-ecurriculum-75-value.html
