Raising Little Shoots
Following threads by lewelma has proved really interesting to me. I have *zero* science knowledge & would like to spend time learning about the scientific method. Has anyone resources they would recommend for me / the kiddo's? I have ordered: How to Think Like a Scientist: Answering Questions by the Scientific Method http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0690045654/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Creepy Crawlies and the Scientific Method http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1555911188/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=

Mommy Grommy
I would check out the new Framework for K-12 Science Education, specifically the section on Scientific and Engineering Practices (Chapter 3). It's a great overview of the kinds of things scientists do, and it's broader than just the scientific method. The chapter helps put the scientific method into perspective as just one of the ways that scientists approach science. You can get the free pdf here: http://www.nap.edu/catalog.php?record_id=13165
WVNA
There are several good resources posted above. I make my kids watch . It's taken from a longer lecture he gave, but this is the most important parts of that lecture. I think he does an excellent job summarizing the scientific method and does it in a way that will stick with you for a long time.
