3monkeys
I would like to use this program next year with my ds because I was given this free and I like the gentle approach. However, I notice a lot of people supplement. I would like to know what specific subjects you supplement and what you use to keep it all manageable. Thanks in advance! Susie in MS
I don't have any experience with the Orange level yet, but have used most of the levels. My suggestion would be to use just LLATL for a while then if you find any weakness in your child's abilities then supplement only in that area(s). Also know that the best results from LLATL come over time.
3monkeys
Thank you. My main worry was grammar and writing. I also want to continue with AAS.
MamaCoop04
Thank you. My main worry was grammar and writing. I also want to continue with AAS. Ok, this is my problem too. My dd did LLATL's Tan Book this year for 6th grade, and she does really struggle with grammar, writing and spelling. So is there a point of even doing LLATL if I'm supplementing those?? Don't mean to hijack, but I like LLATL, but wonder if it's even worth it having to supplement??
3monkeys
I know! My thoughts exactly! However I like how it takes a book and ties all the subjects together and I need that. So thinking its worth it and I can fill in my child's gaps wherever. It really is a gentle program that allows time to do so.
elizabeth rose
I also use a handwriting program, and wordly wise for my 4th grader. She reads aloud from her McGuffey reader, but that is mainly for articulation issues. I really like LLATL and feel it is very solid.

Waiting to see if there is a specific need is a good idea.
