A.Balaban
My DD (2 1/2) has picked up a lot of Spanish on her own - she can count to fifteen in Spanish, say hello and good-bye, some commands, and says please and thank you. We are not a Spanish-speaking household.... I was thinking since she picks it up so easily to maybe do something fun and informal but would help *me* guide her -- I haven't taken Spanish since High School. I was planning on teaching my kids Latin with Song School Latin in a couple years, but I was wondering if maybe Song School Spanish could be adjusted to be done orally? Or is it still too much? I tried renting Little Pim from the library a while back, and they didn't seem interested in the videos (but maybe it's worth a try again?) Any other suggestions or recommendations? La Condessa
My girls love Salsa Spanish, and have learned a lot from it. It is a show that was produced by Georgia Public Broadcasting--you can google it and watch it free online. There are also free lesson plans to go with it available from a different site, from a public school district. (I can't recall the name, but have found it before by searching online.) rellybob
Check out Little Pim. Being your dd is 2 it's especially age appropriate!
rellybob
Oops, just saw you mentioned you have already tried it. Carry on! :)
bakpak
You should search on the Bilingual Board. There's lots of resources listed for young ones learning Spanish. I love the WhistleFritz videos and reading bilingual books. You can add vocab using 'search & find' style books. It's easy to teach 'Donde esta...' and whatever you're looking for. Something like: http://www.usborne.c...ubcat=LS&id=995 . This one is my favorite because its ecosystems are pretty accurate http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/1409526879 (you can find it cheaper elsewhere). For age 2, I love the set by this author: http://www.amazon.co...=relevancerank. Used bookstores and sometimes libraries can offer lots. My favorite music CD is http://www.amazon.co...tt_mus_ep_dpi_2 Very catchy and fun. I like his other CDs too. Your Spanish doesn't have to be great. It's fun to learn together. Miss Tick
My library has a decent collection of spanish boardbooks. They are a nice way to add vocabulary. We also like Pocoyo on youtube or video, less educational, more "Spanish is fun!"
