Joker Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I just received dd's ITBS scores and she did really well, but is still struggling a bit with basic skills in punctuation and capitalization. She did well with usage. We always do revision work together in writing and she seems to get it. She is catching more now than before, but she could still improve. She will be starting ps in the fall for middle school and I'm wanting something to do with her the next few months to try and cement it all a little better. She is a very visual learner and has an excellent memory with pictures, so I'm thinking that is the route I want to go this time. She did R&S for grades 2-4. She used it a bit this year for fifth, but we mainly focused on her writing and used Essentials in Writing. Any suggestions? Quote
Jen in PA Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 We have had success using Evan-Moor's Daily Paragraph Editing books to cement those skills. Quote
Blossom'sGirl Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I second EM Paragraph Editing. I found some of the books on PDF online. If you do a search you may find the 5th grade one and see if it is for you. Quote
Joker Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks! We've tried the daily paragraph editing before, but dd hates it and finds it very boring. I also wouldn't be able to use the whole book since it contains 36 weeks so a lot would be wasted. Quote
