scrapbookbuzz
I was talking with a non-homeschooling mom, who used to teach in the public school, and claims she can't homeschool her own child. (Right.) Anyway, we were discussing my daughter and her special needs, IEPs, public school, etc. And one of her statements was, "Well, if you ever do consider putting her back in (public) school, to prepare her for real life or whatever . . . " I had to keep myself from chuckling aloud at this statement! If I'd had more time (we were at a card making class), I would have liked to asked her what she meant by that and just how, exactly, did she think school prepared one for 'real life'. I know some of you will get a chuckle out of this!
5LittleMonkeys
Bless her heart and kudos to you for not making her realize what an asinine comment that was. :)
scrapbookbuzz
I do have her # and will probably give her a call to keep her from saying it to someone who might take offense to it. I said what I say to everyone who says they can't homeschool: it's not about me, it's about what's best for my kids.

Ruby Rose
When I hear people say they can't HS because xyz, I tell them I do it for the money. That and the prestige that goes along with it.
