pgr
I've searched and searched again... I'm just going to ask. DD is currently fascinated with fractions. She's done LOF, and for some reason just doesn't like Primary Challenge Math/Zaccaro. Any other suggestions? She's otherwise finishing up SM3B. I'm looking for something to let her work on when she asks to play with fractions... Thank you!
hellojwolford
BTDT. Around SM3A, my DS wanted to dig into fractions. I picked up the KUMON Math workbook, fractions, and it fit the bill for us - mostly because DS likes workbooks. Fractions show up in SM4A, but not much in the way of multiplication and no division. I felt that the KUMON workbook was very complete. HTH!
dbmamaz
we read polar bear math, but that was probably a bit younger, and murderous maths bits and pieces.
chepyl
4a has about 19 lessons in fractions I think. My son can hardly wait!! He is mad that I am making him do the test of the book. I need some fun fraction stuff too.
ebunny
What do you mean by 'play' with fractions? Tactile material or worksheets? If you mean doing arithmetic operations with fractions- www.math-drills.com has a fraction section. http://www.homeschoolmath.net/worksheets/fraction.php too. pgr
Thank you for the replies! Yes, Kumon - forgot about that. :) To clarify, I am looking for books or workbooks - she's much more into books than manipulatives. I will check out the math drills :)
lisabees
When dd was interested in fractions, we used MM and watched Education Unboxed videos (she loves those girls). She also uses the white board a lot on our long commutes to ballet many times a week. I give her problems to solve. Something about a white board... You can also check out LivingMath's list. Listening in for any other ideas...
