kareng
Currently my dd and I are using History of the World by Abeka. We've done loads of history studies up to this point, mostly using Sonlight, but more recently using MFW. My dd is having a hard time putting all the pieces together in her mind. So I was thinking if there was a DVD or something else visual (maybe kinesthetic) that she could see and/or touch that might help her. We have used a time line (Sonlight's) that's in a book and that really hasn't helped much. The Abeka History of the World is good but long (for what I'm looking for). I was looking for something that could, in an abbreviated form, put the major events together so that she could "see" them. I am especially interested in Church History (the Great Awakening, the Second Great Awakening, etc) I have heard of Drive Through History but never seen them. Is that something that you would recommend or do you have other ideas? By the way, although we are doing 9th grade, my dd has dyslexia and upper elementary/middle grades' material would work for us. Heathermomster
We use timeline software and enter events as we study. To see connections, we periodically review the timeline and compare. I'm looking at Biblioplan for history next year, and we will study Middle Ages. ETA: We watch documentaries found on NETFLX, youtube, and Amazon Prime to supplement learning. chiguirre
How about the VP history timeline cards. They have a history set that includes some biblical events and a set of Bible cards that is just bibilical events. Here's a link to the first history set: http://www.veritaspress.com/prodinfo.asp?number=000100 You can sometimes find them used for less.
