nsharris28
I've just started Writing with Ease 2 with my daughter. One thing that is new is the narration on Day 4. I'm a little confused about which sentence I dictate to her. Do I dictate the exact same sentence she just generated or one of the "better" summaries the book gives you? Thanks!~ Nicole
TheBugs
I choose one of the sentences from my child's narration. I think the summaries are a guide for the instructor to make sure the child is picking up the main idea or narrative thread of the passage. skeeterbug
One of the sentences that she just narrated to you. The same sentence.
UrbanSue
One of the sentences that she just narrated to you. The same sentence. Right. What you are moving her towards is being able to come up with her own sentence and write it down herself all in one step. SWB sees (quite rightly, if my dh's college students' papers are any indication) that many students are unable to achieve the separate skills that go into writing an original sentence. WWE takes the student incrementally through this process.
nsharris28
Thanks everyone. I do see the importance of this skill. It's not easy at first, though!
