Vida Winter
Is anyone familiar with the CLEP for Spanish? Would two years of honors Spanish be sufficient to make an attempt?
Matryoshka
Isn't the CLEP roughly equivalent to AP? The AP language tests are usually after 4-5 years of the language. I would be very surprised if 2 years were enough.

Matryoshka
I was under the impression that CLEP is easier, mainly because it is multiple-choice. Hmmm. But two full years of study easier?? The AP is going to assume you've finished all grammar study - after two years usually the subjunctive (of which there are numerous tenses and is the hardest topic in Spanish grammar) hasn't even been introduced yet. I can't imagine the subjunctive not being on a test that is going to give college credit... It's still not easy to do multiple choice on topics you've never studied...?? There are different amounts of college credit that a college can grant based on how well you score. I would like to find out if someone with two years of Spanish (and some level of prep, maybe every day for a month prior to the test) would be in a position to make over a score of 50. Where would it fall on a scale of "easy to very difficult"?
Anne in CA
The sample test looks easy enough to me, but how representative of the actual test is might be, who knows?
