Teresa in MO
has anyone ever used this and can compare to the Pillsbury roll out crust. I do not make my own crust, tried a few times and just don't do it. I saw online that Trader Joe's were better than Pillsbury. Any thoughts? HSDCY
I love Trader Joe's pie crust, but I can't compare it with Pillsbury's though because I never had them before. I don't buy Pillsbury because I tried their biscuit dough once and dislike it so much that I never tried their product again. BTW, Trader Joe's pie crust is made with natural ingredients and tastes natural like grandma's recipe. I also use it alone to make "pie crust cookies"--simply cut them in different shapes and bake them, it's delicious!!
Rebel Yell
after a quick online search I could not find their ingredient list, but I'm going to guess it is way better than typical store brands- and not likely to have yellow dye- which is the #1 reason I do not bake pies. I absolutely stink at making pie crusts, and we have a child whop reacts badly to dyes. Can' t hurt to try it! I love everything else from Trader Joe's... Alphabetika
TJ's is better, better, better, BETTER!!!! It is buttery and delightful. If I had some right now, I'd slather it with butter and sugar and cinnamon and roll it up and back it and cut it into beensy cinnamon rolls. That's exactly what I'd do! SonshineLearner
Whole Foods has a non-Gmo Pie crust... Starts with... an "I" that is great :)
anabelneri
We also haven't tried Pilsbury, but we love Trader Joe's crust. I'm a stickler for real ingredients, and they passed my criteria. Also, I am not a lover of pie crust, but the TJ's crust is really, really tasty, and makes great quiche as well as pie. :)
sarahbobeara
I'm the lone dissenter then... I tried TJ's pie crusts last year and the dough was too flaky to even get it in the pie plate. It was almost like they were freezer-burned or expired. I threw them away and made an emergency trip for some Pilsbury's. Makes me wonder if I got a bad batch at TJ's???
