IEW question

Is the Teaching Writing Structure and Style really necessary for teaching any of the programs like the Fable, Fairytales, and Myths program? From looking at the samples, it seems kind of self explanatory. However, the website clearly states that one must have used the Teaching Writing Structure and Style first.

Can you find someone local that has the TWSS discs for you to borrow and watch?

(I haven't used the theme based books, but I'm using SWI-A, and I'm *still* glad I got TWSS)

Same here. I actually feel like a writing teacher and not just following along.

It was SO helpful to watch the first 2 DVD's before starting

I have been using the IEW theme books for a few years now and I have not viewed the TWSS dvds. I did start with SWI-A, but I did not watch all of the dvd. I watched the first lesson or so to learn the IEW technique. Since I haven't seen the dvds. I don't know what I'm missing. :D I say, go for it , if you want to try it. The "fables" book is rather simple and easy to start with IMO.
