JumpyTheFrog Posted October 12, 2012 Share Posted October 12, 2012 How do I get my 6 1/2 year old to leave his 3 1/2 year old brother alone? DS1 seems to have poor impulse control lately. This all started in the last six months or so. DS1 provokes DS2 about 75% of the time and the screaming from DS2 is driving us crazy! Help! I don't know if DS1 is trying to be mean, because they generally love to play together. DS1 doesn't seem to understand that when his little brother screams, he should stop flinging the blanket at him, trying to drag him to another room, or ordering him around. Again, are you sure you're not talking about my kids? ;) My oldest doesn't seem to get "if he's screaming that means you STOP!" either. And of course, as soon as I separate them or put ds5.5 in time-out, ds3.5 wants to be with him and he cries when I keep them apart for a few minutes. :001_rolleyes: ETA: Sorry, I'm really not any help. I have to stop in the middle of correcting DD a lot to send DS1 to timeout because he isn't in charge of correcting her. Doesn't help the next time though.
