toawh
I want to buy the McGuffey Speller as my main speller, but I'm not sure how to use it exactly. Does anyone have experience with it or ideas or know how it was designed to use?
Rident_Mama
I have it, but have not implemented it yet. It starts with easy double-letter sounds, builds to three-letter sounds, and starts building into easy words. It is downloadable from Gutenberg if you want to see an e-version. Hunter
I have a nice red hardcover published by the Amish, and I have no idea what I'm going to do with it.
Stingyhag
Personally, depending on the age of the child, assign a lesson on a regular basis (ie: weekly, bi weekly, monthly). I have the kids look up the words in the dictionary, and write out definitions. Another day, use them in a sentence. Another day, write out each word 3 times. Then test them on it.
