Dobela
My dd has therapy 3 days a week from 11-2. We eat breakfast around 8 or 9, and we have to leave the house around 10:30. Her therapists will feed her lunch but have asked me to make it easier on them, as in less time consumming and less messy. Things like make your own PBJ and pizza lunchables are out now because she either takes forever, or makes a huge mess. They also would prefer that I not send those lunchables with candy/sweets. Snack size foods are apparently really liked as she can take a bite and keep working. I don't like to just send chips and crackers and carrots/celery/grapes. I also hate sending perishables like lunchmeat if that isn't what dd eats. Even in an insulated lunchbox with a chiller thing, after that many hours they seem gross to me. I have been looking at Bento boxes but those are overwhelming to me in some ways. Plus my budget is very tight. I don't have lots of money to experiment with, or to waste food with. Help me thing of some new ideas and get me out of this rut, pretty please :001_smile:
AK_Mom4
Quesadillas cut into bite-size pieces. These hold together great as finger food thanks to the cheese. Peanut butter works good in tortillas too and is not very messy when cut into strips. Chicken bites - chunks of grilled chicken again in bite size pieces. Cheese cubes. Sausage cubes (we use summer sausage for this, but pepperoni works great too)
Pippen
I would first try foods she likes and is used to having. ie Pbj can be cut bite size. I always put two ice packs in lunches and it stays cold until lunch. Dry cereal String cheese cut bite size Almonds Cherry tomatoes Apple slices dipped in Fruit Fresh or lemon juice Trail mix Mini muffins
