thundersweet
I want something my rising 6th grader to do on her own. She is very interested in drawing and art type stuff. She is doing really well in her sketchbook. She told me yesterday she wants to "really" learn to draw. Any ideas? She isn't so much interested in cartoon type drawings. She is looking for more realistic. Thanks, Sandy
MomatHWTK
This may be an option: http://www.drawspace.com/ My DD is still a bit young, so I censored some of the materials on drawing the human form. She's seen it, but I'm not quite ready for her to start drawing it all. ;) Also, there are LOTS of copyright free books on drawing available. I have downloaded several, but the text is still a bit too difficult for DD to read independently.

KarenNC
http://www.alienthink.com realistic figure drawing based on anatomy---learning to draw the figure from the inside-out. The first 19 lesson videos are free. I've had my 7th grader do a few, but her preference is manga style, so something like Manga University is more her speed right now. Pen
My son has preferred book based instruction for drawing, though he usually likes video based curriculum. He also likes ones meant for adults not children. I've tried to find what meets his interests -- such as nature, or animals, or people.
