cam112198
We use CLE for math for dd10, ds7, and dd6. I have been using xtramath.org to drill math facts rather than the flashcards and timed drills. Do you think that's ok? It's so much easier because I have 3 students I'm teaching and a 2-year-old getting into everything!:001_smile:
julikins
I've been considering doing the same thing. Is xtramath free? Is it varied? I'm not sure exactly how it works but have been thinking my son would enjoy it better than the flashcards.
thowell
Dd9 has been using CLE math from the start and this is exactly how we do it. She did start with the drills and flashcards in CLE but once I found Xtramath we switched to that for drills. She likes it much better and loves being able to track her progress on the charts. NotSoObvious
I haven't used Xtramath but the one thing I like about CLE is the order in which they teach their facts. They group them in a logical way. If Xtramath does the same thing, it might be a nice way to break up the lesson. I know my dd needs the practice of writing out the answers though. It helps her memorize.
mrs.m
That's what we us! xtramath is systematic just like CLE but I actually think they can move faster through the facts than CLE. We still do the written timed tests, just not everyday.

cam112198
Thanks, guys! It helps to know I'm not the only one that does it that way.
Michelle My Bell
We do this, but I also add in the timed drills a few times a week.
