Doran
I'm wondering about the plural use of the word protocol. If the singular use already defines a set of standards, does the plural use mean SETS of standards. If yes, then how would you appropriately use the plural? Or, when would the either be inappropriate?
PrairieAir
I would think that protocols refers to more than one set of standards. It's one of those plurals that just doesn't sound right to me though--like peoples and monies. Don't ask me how or when to use it because I doubt I would ever need to. I'm not big on protocols:D
Soph the vet
Protocols is used when there is more than one protocol referred to. For example, there are many protocols for a specific drug's use depending on which species I am treating. Does that help?
