CamperMom
Does anyone have any suggestions for good physics videos - 6th grade or higher? My kids have questions regarding sound, light, etc. Thank you.
Deniseibase
Try Brightstorm - http://www.brightstorm.com/science/physics/ or Hippocampus - the NROC Collection of presentations has a lot of topics http://www.hippocampus.org/Physics;jsessionid=BC2097CA0E6B80351B38ED1F9935EE94 or Khan Academy has physics videos, but they are pretty heavy on the math - http://www.khanacademy.org/#physics Of course these are all high-school level (or higher!) and may be over your kids' heads. It's VERY hard to find good science material in between the elementary basics and the high school stuff, so I'm hoping someone else will have more ideas. But there is also an old cartoony series called Eureka! that you can watch on YouTube, here's a link to the first episode - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6snX4M2_8U It does not specifically address questions about light and sound, tho, but it might still be interesting for your kids. Lily_Grace
Not free, but Disney's Science of Imagineering are great! Each one focuses on a different topic - electricity, energy, Newton's laws...and shows how they are applied when it comes to theme parks. Bill Nye also has a ton out that cover everything from optics to communications.
heart'sjoy
We've used some of these. Don't miss the free worksheets. http://www.gpb.org/chemistry-physics/students/physics
Farrar
Two thoughts, though I'm on my iPad and can't link, you should be able to find them - the old Canadian show Eureka! Is all on YouTube. It is excellent and intended for middle school. Also, the BBC schools site has some good GCSE level physics videos. Oh, and do you know Minute Physics? Mostly just for fun, but an enjoyable YouTube channel.
