Jane in NC
Catching up on my reading in Bloomberg Business Week, I was captivated by an article on TechShop, "a membership-based workshop that provides members with access to tools and equipment, instruction, and a community of creative and supportive people so they can build the things they have always wanted to make." Memberships are not cheap and are certainly geographically limited, but access to equipment and smart people could pay for itself. Those hands on kids who wonder about college might produce the next innovative product in a TechShop environment. It really does open up the doors for those seeking alternatives. Link. TechWife
My son has taken several different classes at TechShop. The instructors they have are really good and are passionate about what they are doing. My son just needs a project of some kinds to spur him on.
