Need "playdoh" recipe that will hold a pawprint and dry

Recommended Posts

I promised to do this craft for dd's dog camp - kids from age 8-16, hard to find crafts that will fit for all. I need a playdoh type recipe that will hold a pawprint (they bring their dogs) and will dry - to make an ornament type thing. Plaster would be too messy and clay probably wouldn't dry in time to take home (and is probably too expensive). Any ideas?

TIA (dd is off to college in the fall so this is my last "parent donation"

You could try Model Magic by Crayola, but it may be too expensive. You can do a regular salt and flour dough, but it'll crack and takes a while to dry, too.

How about having them paint their dog's paw and stamp with it? First trim any hair between the toes. Have a couple of dishpans out with soapy water in them to wash off the paws, and do the painting/printing outside. You could cut squares of old sheet and make paw print banners.
