faiths13
I was just reading that Shurley English works well for parents who have a hard time teaching grammar with a textbook - that sounds like me, lol.
missmoe
I love the memory aspect of Shurley English as well as the built in review. And it did help me review all those grammar terms! The teacher's manual is scripted. Every word you are to say to your student is written down. That drives some mad, but works wonderfully for others! faiths13
ive never tried any curric like that, but it sounds kind of neat right now. i hate struggling to explain some concepts that i myself dont understand, but the book doesnt give a good explanation either. mumto2
We really like it now. It has done the job with both kids. Another advantage is it teaches different writing formats very clearly. I just want to warn you that it completely overwhelmed me when I first got it. I just couldn't spend the time to figure it out so l set it aside. Someone asked me about it several months later. I pulled it out, looked it over to answer question, and started it the next day! It is really easy to use after the initial time spent figuring out how to implement the parts.
