Wendi
Obviously this is a good year to study elections and government. My ds is 11. Can anyone recommend a good book to use? Wendi
unsinkable
http://www.oklahomahomeschool.com/PresElec.html http://www.eclectichomeschool.org/articles/article.asp?articleid=8&resourceid=58 The top one might be a bit on the young side for an 11 y.o. but you could tweak it. unsinkable
Kelli in TN
We have been using Ben's Guide for civics and it does include some election information. After we have a candidate for each party, check with Time for Kids. They still have their 2004 stuff up, I assume it will be updated after all the primaries are over. Peek a Boo
I just found this grade-specific resource free online --it's a TON of stuff to download, but looks great! It has a lot of stuff specific to TX, but PLENTY for general study! check out the Teacher's Corner for the Bug Election idea :-) more stuff to download there, too http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/projectvote/download.htm
