What do I do with this failed sewing project?

When dd was a baby I started to make this roman shade for her window. Life and chronic illness got in the way and I didn't work on it for ages. During that time there was a move and when I got around to it a year ago, I discovered that her current window is bigger than the shade! So now what do I do with it? Would Goodwill want something like this? It isn't totally finished - it needs more rings on the blue side and then the cord/pulley system to raise and lower it. I'd hate to put it in the landfill.

I would take the rings off, never know when they might come in handy. The fabric is great, either trim the seams off and use the materials for quilt (or donate the fabric, it will sell more easily in this form) or do as another poster said and use it as a valance. I made a blind recently for our front door and when it was all done I did not account for the fabric pulling in when I quilted it so it was short almost 1" all around. I took coordinating fabric and made a binding all around that added the extra material so it fits perfect now....you could do something like this if you still want to use it.

Ds5 (on my lap) saw the picture and said he wants it for his bed. If it is too small for a blanket/lovey for her, could you use it as a doll blanket? Or maybe as part of a canopy bed for an 18'' doll?

It is 71 inches x 56 inches (5 feet 11 inches x 4 feet 8 inches.) A bit big for a doll blanket!

It has thermal batting inside of it - like a quilt for a window.

I estimate it's cost to be $15 at the most to send parcel post, if anyone wants it. I'd be willing to pay half the shipping if you pay me the other half.

Otherwise, I think I will give it to Goodwill. I have too much to do to try and dig out from years of not being able to do stuff so I don't want to do extra to make it into something else.
