SunnyDays
With the Presidential Election process so much in the news (and only ramping up further as the year goes on), are you doing anything special for this? I'd like to do an election study with my son, and I thought it might be good for us to share some ideas. Any materials that you are planning to use, or have used before, that you'd recommend?? violingirl
We're planning to use the Elections 2012 Unit Study by Amanda Bennett. My son will be 7 then and there is so much offered in that unit study that I can make it into as much or as little as he's interested in. SunnyDays
Erin - I just looked up the unit study and I love it!! I haven't used anything from Amanda Bennett before, have you?? I know others who have and really enjoyed themselves. I may actually do two of them... the American Government study followed by Elections!! WhatLight
Oh, I really like the looks of Amanda Bennet's unit study. Thanks for posting that link! I also like Knowledge Box Central's Presidential Election Process Lapbook. It looks like it could be a lot of fun, and my kids really enjoy lapbooking. http://www.currclick.com/product_info.php?products_id=22180&src=s_pi&it=1&filters=10400_0_0_0_0_0_0_0
LucyStoner
C-Span has free materials on line and via mail (periodically). They will send anything they offer teachers to homeschoolers. We received a great map of the electoral college this way for free. http://www.c-spanclassroom.org/
