Alicia64
How archaic can you possibly get?! (If "education" hasn't helped schools understand that striking kids isn't the answer to misbehavior. . . then they haven't really been educated.) http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0934191.html Alley

meltf928
Here is a more recent list, I have no idea how accurate it is. http://www.corpun.com/counuss.htm
MamaT
This is incredible to me. I thought corporal punishment became illegal years ago. I had a teacher in the 7th grade (mid 70's), who would line the class up and paddle us all for no reason. He said we were "putting one in the bank." After about the third time I had bruises on my bottom, and finally told my dad. I don't know exactly what he did, but it never happened again. One more reason to be glad my kids are home.
OrganicAnn
Now why don't they make corporal punish available for adults who commit misdemeanors? You get a parking ticket, you get 3 smacks on the bottom.
Peaceful Isle
There was corporal punishment in the private school that I attended as a youngster. um, yes,..I'm glad I homeschool. I am definitely raising my children differently that I was raised.
