2squared
I am seriously considering starting a book club for this summer for 9-10yo. If you have had any involvement in such a club, can you send tips my way? I already know book selection is probably going to be the biggest concern, but I am nervous about facilitating such a group. I read Deconstructing Penguins already, but I need more hand holding. I wish that book had provided a sample agenda for book club newbies. catz
This might be a good resource for you http://nationalhomeschoolbookaward.com/ We have a wonderful and vibrant local homeschool book club and this is their 2nd year setting up the national homeschool book award. These 4 books are all about kids that do not attend regular school for one reason or another. There are suggestions their books (their were 4 books last year too). They have another book every month too and over the year they cover these 4 books too. Many are award winners and/or historical fiction with some generally fun ones thrown into the mix. Good luck!
