Shelly in IL
We just finished up Apologia General Science. It was ok and I thought very thorough, but it was dry and very textbooky. What could I get for 7th that presents science in a more interesting/exciting way for my son? He is really into sciencey things. Are considering BJU or Prentice Hall Science Explorers. ANy suggestions? Thanks (was going to go into Ap. Phys. Science for next year, but want to see if there are any better - he will definitely be college bound.) angela in ohio
My dd finished General Science for 6th grade this year, and we didn't really like it. She is very interested in a science field, so we wanted something rigorous. We are going with BJU Earth & Space Science next year, then on through the BJU series. Lori D.
This thread asked for science ideas to use for middle school other than Apologia which tends to be rather dry: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35150 I posted about combining Reader's Digest "How ... Works" with TOPS units and other materials. If you want specifics on that, let me know. : ) Best of luck! Warmly, Lori D.
