FaithManor
It isn't good timing. Dh was really, really upset...abnormally upset for him since he's a very emotionally even-keel kind of person and a logical thinker to boot. He's also always been supportive and with our youngest only six years away from college, he has been hinting that I should think about what I'd like to do post-homeschool. Late Friday afternoon, the doctor phoned to say dh is anemic. Well, given the amount of blood loss from the accident back in December, despite the blood transfusion, we knew this might be an issue for a while until he really gets back to normal. Having struggled with anemia in the past, I know how he is feeling. Of course, I've always still continued all of my duties, homeschooling, mom, wife, 4-H leader, etc. with the energy levels of a sloth because I had to...dh will continue to work...the thought of single parenting for four months is too much for him. I get that. I can't do it to him. I was going to submit a resume on Monday...the bloodwork made that a no-go. Dh needs me and he won't get through the spring and summer rocket team responsibilities without me, so I'll be content where I am now. However, I think that should something like this pop up again once the boys are grown, dh may face four months of "bachelorhood"! Thanks for the advice and the offers of places to stay. I really, really appreciate it! Under better circumstances, I think I would have tried to get the job. For now, I need to take care of dh. QuirkyKidAcademy
I'm sorry you can't follow your desire, but it sounds like a good decision. I hope DH continues to heal well.
Catwoman
I think you're doing the right thing, Faith. Your priorities are in the right place. I'm sorry about the job, though, but when the time is right, something even better will come along. :grouphug:
It isn't good timing. I was going to submit a resume on Monday...the bloodwork made that a no-go. I wonder if it would be a healthy exercise to submit the resume and go through the process, even if you plan to formally withdraw at some point? If you get to interview, you might make some contacts that could come in handy later. Working up one's resume is usually a fruitful exercise. I'm sure the music transcription community is a small, tight knit one. Perhaps you might make an impression, and through that, find a different position more local to you, or one that could be done from home?
