LucyStoner
which would appeal to a student who loved reading Howard Zinn's Young People's History of the United States as well as the If you lived type books? We were not planning on doing US history so soon but he loves it and is happy to be doing lots of history (we also are doing an Ancient History study using SOTW and many other books.) I want to feed his interest. Edited February 22, 2012 by kijipt
Donna
My dd loves a book called "We Were There, Too." by Phillip M. House. It has quotes and stories of young people who lived throughout US history.
jina
We use biblioplan. It schedules American History along with SOTW and MOH in year 3 and 4 of the classical cycle. They also schedule independent readers and read alouds. We don't use EVERY one they suggest, but so nice to already have a book selected/suggested each week if we are looking for one...and we don't have to stray from our 4 year cycle.
