Joanne
I substituted for our elementary world history teacher this week. After teaching the lessons (ancient rome), I read from SOTW to them. This is what their regular teacher does, and they were absolutely clear that hearing SOTW was their favorite part. We learned about gladiators. :) I read SOTW to my homeschool and bonus kids years back. They still remember and talk about it.
Chris in VA
:hurray: We love it, too. I wish they'd use it at dd's school!

Oakblossoms
I tried something different and fell back to SOTW when things got rough this year. My third son loves it. We listen to the audio version and they just have all learned so much. I have learned a lot, as well.
