Pen
Are the books titled something like Sentence Composing for _____ (school level) and the ones called something like Story Grammar for _____ (school level) a) sequential, and if so, which comes first? Or b) are they overlapping and redundant, in which case which is more complete/better? Or c) best gotten and used together?
Kalmia
Two of them, I think, were earlier versions that did not specify the grammatical constructions and discuss "tools" of writing instead. These are Sentence Composing for Elementary School and Grammar for Middle School are the two that label the phrases and clauses the child will be imitating. I suggest you start with those two (sequentially, not at the same time), and then if you want to continue use the other two. By then your child should be able to identify the phrases and clauses. Momling
I haven't seen the story grammar books, but we used Sentence Composing for Elementary School and I'd definitely recommend it -- particularly for upper elementary/middle school. Pen
Hmmmm. I'm still slightly confused. I decided to order both for elementary level--hope it is not just a new and old edition of the same thing.
