Remudamom
Tonight I filled our house with smoke because instead of checking our wood stove first, I just started a fire. The reason I'm lmbo is because youngest dd said nothing, just grabbed her favorite cat and headed for the door. She never gets emotional, but by gum, her cat wasn't going to breathe in all that smoke!
Liz CA
Soot in the flue? Spark screen dirty? I hated it when all I wanted was to get warm, instead I got smoke. Hope you have alternate heat source or it's taken care off quickly?
Remudamom
Yes, it was just a "for fun" fire, I put it out but we haven't found the problem yet. I'm betting a bird nest in the pipe?? We have an reproduction Amish type cook stove in the sitting area by the kitchen and I wanted to sit in front of it and read. So much for that idea. I'm still coughing. But, you know, Felix the cat is good........
Parrothead
At least your dd grabbed a live animal. My dd would have gotten her teddy.

He's very old and she takes prodigious good care of him. ;)
