I bought him a leather aviator jacket...you know, the one with the sheepskin collar. He'd wanted one since he was a teen. I deliberately went for one from an upper end brand, b/c frankly, I may as well spend the $ to get the quality...chances are, he'll wear this coat for a decade or so. He's worn it a handful of times...and the freaking stitching is coming out from the zipper seam! :cursing: Thankfully, I still have the reciept. I thought about tossing it, since he loves the jacket and it fits perfectly, but I've been too lazy to clear out my wallet. Good flipping thing! We had a zipper break in my ds11's down winter jacket (not as expensive as what you describe, but he liked it). I don't have any sewing skills, so I took it to a shop to be replaced.
